When the Image Disappears
Traffic Series
In this phase, the visual referent is progressively reduced until it almost disappears. The structures that previously organized the landscape are simplified, and the painting concentrates on relationships of color, rhythm, and optical vibration.
The chromatic grids become denser and the pictorial fields expand, generating surfaces where the original image is transformed into a barely perceptible presence. The painting stops describing a specific place and begins to function as an autonomous visual space.
This synthesis process does not seek to eliminate the image, but to push it to a limit where its technological origin can still be sensed, even if it is no longer fully recognizable.
The work is thus situated in a territory where perception, visual memory, and digital structure intertwine.
