The painting begins with a sketch generated on a touch device and is constructed at the intersection of two planes: the digital gesture that shapes the image and its material translation onto the canvas through a taping system.

When the Image Disappears
Traffic Series

The image progressively dissolves into fields of color and vibration. The painting reduces the image to a minimal visual structure where the reference begins to vanish.

The landscape is fragmented into out-of-focus surfaces that dialogue with the RGB grid, making visible the digital structure that organizes the image.

The Automated Gaze

These paintings are based on blurred images captured by traffic and surveillance cameras, reinterpreted through color grids and strokes that evoke the movement of the cursor.

 

Archive 2001 - 2014

The roots of my current research lie in these early series, where the capture of the urban environment was mediated by technological devices. These works stem from images that, while close to figuration, appear shot through with movement, blurriness, or the anomalies inherent to the technical image.
